CBT Projects for Weyerhaeuser

As an ID on this project, Weyerhaeuser work was my first introduction to CBT. I moved from the paper-based group to the CBT group in the small company I worked for. The CBT group had developed an excellent software development tool from scratch. The ID would research the content, develop an outline and have it reviewed, develop storyboards and have those reviewed, then populate the template with the content from the outline and develop go-bys for graphic content. The tool had x number of templates, and each one would be for content screens, test screens, etc., with text fields in fixed positions. Once complete, the ID would export the file to a text file that would be imported into the tool  the developer used to rapidly build pages and interaction. A graphic artist built out the 3D animation and illustration using 3D Studio Max.

For this project I developed CBT modules for machines and processes in the brownstock department in a fine paper mill.  Lessons covered components, system flows, valve numbers and locations, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting for entire the brownstock department.

This was a great introduction to being able to open up a machine in 3D and show different internal operations to the learner via animation.

Lesson list:

·         Brownstock Auxiliary Systems

·         Decker System Control

·         Displacement Presses

·         Screens and Cleaners

·         Oxygen Reactor

·         Decker Systems
