Manufacturing
I started off my career in paper manufacturing, traveling from Wilmington NC to mills in Arkansas and Alabama. From there I went into steel, food and beverage, automotive, demanufacturing, and most recently aerospace.
Aerospace
From 2006 until 2016 I worked as a contractor with Boeing. I started off on the 787 program, then spread out into different areas across multiple Puget Sound area plants and departments. Links to the major efforts are listed below.
Aerospace projects
Demanufacturing and recycling
As an ID I researched, designed, and developed training for computer and electronics demanufacturing machines and processes where the electronics were disassembled, separated by material, and processes into plastic pellets or other raw materials for use in future products. The training was implemented by a recycling company in Texas when they incorporated the new equipment into their recycling facility.
Automotive
I worked on a number of projects for UAW Ford/Visteon as an ID and PM. Links to these projects are listed below.
Automotive projects
Food and Beverage
I did two projects in food and beverage, listed below.
-
Batch juice manufacture
CBT/EPSS for industrial batch juicing operations. Researched, designed, developed the program.
-
Case packer for bakery
EPSS for a new case packer for a regional bakery focused primarily on changeovers. Researched, design, developed the program.
Papermaking
As an ID and PM I first created paper manuals and videos for papermaking manufacturing processes. Soon after I learned to develop computer-based training.
-
Operator training
Researched and developed over 40 paper-based learning manuals for board, fine paper, and tissue mills.
-
CBT for brown stock
Researched and designed content for CBT lessons in a mill brown stock area.
